And finding a payday loan facility will be easy- just look on the internet or in the phone book. Typically, you can find them in check cashing establishments.

In Hawaii the maximum you can borrow is $600 at once. Of course, you can get a lower amount then that. Unfortunately, you can only have one of these loans open at a time so don't count on making multiple deals all at the same time.

So how does it work? Well, let's say that you need $300. You fill out some paperwork at the location and they will verify a few details about you, like your employment and a valid checking account. Once you are approved, you write them a check for the $300 plus the applicable fees that they charge. Depending on your contract, they will cash the check on your next payday or whatever terms you agree to. If you want the payment spread out then they can work to see if that is possible.

You will have a maximum of 32 days to have the loan out so the length of the contract will depend on how much you borrow and when you can repay. The longer you keep the money the more fees you are charged. The most finance charge you will pay is 15% of the check.

But before you start the process you want to make sure that the location you are doing business with is both reputable and abides by the laws of the state. Your best bet is to do a little research and know the state regulations regarding these transactions and know if your location honors them. If not, you may be getting yourself in a big mess that the state may not be able to fully help you get out of.
