In order to go through their process you have to have a job earning within their income limits and a valid checking account for the specified time. You fill out some papers and they put you in the system for approval. If approved, you write them a check that they hold until your next payday and advance you the money then.

There are a few things to remember before you get into this process. First, make sure that you only borrow what you need. Guidelines set by the state of Kentucky state that you are only allowed up to $500 at one time when taking out one of these loans. They also say that the payday loan facility can charge you interest for a minimum of 14 days but not to exceed 60 days. Of course, the longer you have the loan out the more interest and fees you will be charged.

Your fees are set at $15 per $100 borrowed so, again, only borrow what you need. Remember: this is not like a bank. The interest and fees are not spread out and you will have to pay the money back fairly soon. You only want to be on the hook for what you can comfortably pay back within the time limits.

Another thing to remember is that even though most locations are legitimate you can never be too careful. Take the time to check out the one you will be conducting business with to make sure they abide by Kentucky's guidelines. You can't put a price on the extra peace of mind.
